We are a little late, but we can't let National School Counselors Week go by without recognizing our amazing counselor, Jena Burcham!
We are incredibly grateful for everything Mrs. Burcham does for our students, staff, and school community. She goes above and beyond every single day — supporting students, solving problems, encouraging growth, and making sure everyone feels seen and valued. In addition to her counseling role, she also works tirelessly as Arnett's BETA advisor, investing extra time and heart into helping our students succeed and lead.
Thank you, Mrs. B, for your dedication, compassion, and steady presence. Our school is better because of you! 💛🖤

This week's Farmer's and Merchant's Bank "Banking on a Wildcat" goes to Dayson West. Dayson's teacher's had this to say about him: "Recently, Dayson was asked by a teacher to help fulfill a need in our school. Dayson immediately and willingly did what was asked, but went a couple of steps further as well, all on his own initiative. On another recent instance, Dayson saw a different teacher working on a project. Even though he was not assigned the activity, Dayson offered to help and continued to finish the project even after the teacher had to move on to something else with a different class. Dayson’s actions demonstrate kindness, initiative, and a willingness to serve others without expecting recognition. He is a thoughtful student who makes a positive impact on those around him." Great job, Dayson!

The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum presented their education program, Better Conversations, to 7th-12th graders at AHS yesterday afternoon. The program provided lessons on the 1995 OKC bombing while incorporating the OKC Thunder and Oklahoma Standard. Hands-on activities also gave students practical tools for productive conversations that build communication and conflict-resolution, which are essential skills for civic engagement today.

This week's Farmer's and Merchant's Bank "Banking on a Wildcat" goes to Remick Brown! Remick's colleagues had this to say about her: "As the Superintendent’s Secretary, and the knower and doer of all things, Remick Brown is the go to person for most everyone at Arnett Public Schools. This means she’s interrupted roughly 5,000 times a day all while keeping our district running smoothly and efficiently. Remick ensures everyone gets paid, prepares materials for monthly board meetings, and helps make sure we are doing things correctly. (Sometimes teachers are the worst at following directions.) Remick is honest, dependable, and someone who fully carries out her responsibilities. She believes in change when it is for the best, but she also makes sure to do research and make phone calls before implementing anything new. Remick keeps us in line, answers a million questions, problem solves all day, and does more than any of us actually know or understand. Thank you, Remick, for all you do! Get you a couple of Dr. Peppers with your certificate, you earned it!" Congratulations, Remick!
