It is with great sorrow that Arnett Public Schools honors the memory of former educator, administrator, co-worker, and friend, Mr. Bob Dobrinski. Bob dedicated 33 years of service to Arnett Schools, leaving a lasting impact on students, staff, and the entire Arnett community.
Mr. Dobrinski began teaching at Arnett in 1988 as the Shop Teacher, where he taught woodworking and other hands-on skills. The following year, Bob wrote a grant to incorporate Technology Education and TSA into the school system. He served as TSA advisor for many years, taking students to conventions and supporting several who went on to hold state office positions. His leadership helped build a highly successful TSA program, and he was honored as National TSA Advisor of the Year in 1995.
Over the next 25 years, Bob served in a variety of administrative roles at Arnett, including PK–12 principal, counselor, building test coordinator, and JH/HS principal. He also served as yearbook advisor, bus driver, class sponsor, and Driver’s Education teacher. No matter the role, Mr. Dobrinski made a meaningful impact on the lives of students and staff.
Even after leaving Arnett in 2021, Mr. Dobrinski still found a way to serve our school and our students through his work at the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services. It was not uncommon for Bob to stop by the school, pull up a chair, and visit. This occurrence always felt natural, as if he had never left, because to us, Arnett Schools would always be his home.
Arnett was not only fortunate to have Mr. Dobrinski as an educator, but also to know and to have taught his daughters, Jaydelyn and Kaizlyn. We are grateful for Mr. Dobrinski’s many years of dedicated service, and our thoughts are with his family during this time.
