We kicked off this school week with state testing in 3rd through 11th grade. Our students have been working hard preparing for these. While testing, our cooks provide snacks and drinks for our kids to have between tests. We greatly appreciate their effort to make testing better!
Wednesday the Arnett softball team held districts at home. The girls played hard and came out on top. The Lady Wildcats had a three game sweep to take the District Championship title. They will advance to the regional tournament that will be held this week on Thursday.
Pre-K Enrollment was held at the school this past Wednesday evening, also. We had a great turn out! We will have thirteen kids starting Pre-K next year at Arnett!
This past week Mrs.Sally Wheeler's art class started painting a Dr. Suess mural in the elementary library. Students, Bristen Robertson, Zanston Clark, and Marissa Vallejo, are helping complete the painting.
In Mrs. Ham's 4th-6th grade science classes this past week, the students planted different herbs and flowers that were donated by CF. We had a variety of plants from chives, mint, rosemary, lavender, and more. We are excited to watch them grow over the next few weeks.
On Friday, pre-k through 6th grade attended a live skit from Lyric Theater, Kid's Club. It was a hit! The kids loved it. Also Friday, the boys baseball team traveled to Granite for districts and unfortunately their baseball season ended there.
Another exciting thing that happened Friday at the school was Brooklyn Bayless signing her contract to play college basketball. She signed with the NOC Jets! Congratulations, Brooklyn!
Saturday evening was a special night at the school. Mrs. Knowles, Miss Holloway, and the junior class worked hard decorating and preparing for the annual school prom. The theme this year was Arabian nights. All of the students looked fabulous dressed up!
