Our March teacher and students of the Month left to right are Sabe Williams, Lauryn Bayless, Cameron Stanley, Sterling Royal, Julie Thomas, Norah Bryant, and Jackson Helfenbein.
We are getting closer to the end of the year, but we aren't slowing down! Twenty five 3rd thru 6th grade Arnett students traveled to Woodward with Mrs. Broyles to watch a performance of the On Stage Woodward’s musical, Newsies. Local students Emma Knowles, Eli Coykendall, and Lola Coleman were a part of the cast, as well as Arnett School’s speech pathologist, Mrs. Dia McGowen. Mrs. Shala Knowles was also involved backstage working with costumes and microphones. All of the kids had a great time and really enjoyed the performance. Mrs. Broyles would like to thank Kristi Haney for driving the bus and helping as a sponsor, and also to Jenita Cutsinger for meeting the group in Woodward and assisting as a sponsor.

The 5th & 6th Grade Choir shirts were designed by Arnett 6th grader, Riah Latta. Five designs were submitted this year and then voted on by members of the choir. Mrs. Broyles commented, “Arnett has some extremely talented students. Since I started asking for student drawings a few years ago, I have never been disappointed and it makes me really happy to be able to showcase one of our talented artists through the music program.“

Last Monday, the Kindergarten class traveled to Oklahoma City to the zoo for their field trip. They had a blast seeing the animals while spending time with their classmates and family.

Wednesday, the Beta Club held their annual cook day for their rib fundraiser. They smoked 240 racks of ribs today as a fundraiser for the National Beta Convention in Nashville this summer. Every Arnett Jr. and Sr. Beta member will get to compete nationally, either on-site or virtually due to qualifying at the State level in March.
These Beta members worked so hard and fast in the cold and wind and didn’t complain. They all had to help prepare, cook, and clean. All the students worked hard and helped to have a successful fundraiser.

Thursday we finished off the week with our Easter parties. Pre-K through 4th grade had their own class Easter egg hunt followed by snacks and drinks. 5th and 6th grade hid all the eggs for each class. After hiding the eggs, we enjoyed watching the kindergarten hunt their eggs.

While Easter parties  were going on, the Arnett baseball and softball teams hosted their annual Arnett tournaments.

We also celebrated our March students of the month last week. They are all doing an exceptional job with their manners, showing kindness, and being great students in the classroom. For March, our students of the month were Sterling Royal (Pre-K), Jackson Helfenbein (K), Cameron Stanley (1st), Norah Bryant (3rd), Sabe Williams (4th), and Lauryn Bayless (5th). Along with our amazing students, we celebrated our teacher of the month, Julie Thomas. This is Julie's first year teaching 2nd grade at Arnett Elementary and is doing a phenomenal job!
