Monday the teachers had training while many of our students were out working hard showing off their livestock projects at the Ellis County Livestock Show in Shattuck. Our kids did an amazing job! The kids are now working hard to prepare for the Woodward district livestock show. It will be held February 19th-23rd. If you’re around Woodward, stop in to see our kids and their projects!

The 5th grade science class has finished their chapter over our solar system and has spent the last three class periods working on building their own model. They used balloons as their base for their paper mache planets. Each student had their own planet to create. We will be finishing these models this week and hanging them for display.

Along with stock shows and speech tournaments, Arnett held the district basketball games this week at home. Thursday night the girls played Cimarron and defeated them, advancing to the district championship game on Saturday vs Goodwell. The boys team played Goodwell Friday night and were beaten out of districts. Saturday night the girls then defeated Goodwell to be the district champions! Congratulations to our Lady Wildcats! Also, a big congratulations to Brooklyn Bayless! She scored her 2000th career point in the District Championship game Saturday night! The Arnett Lady Wildcats will be playing in the regional tournament, hosted in Fairview, Thursday, February 17th at 6:30 vs. Kremlin-Hillsdale.

Along with everything else, this past week was National School Counseling Week, and we wanted to recognize our school counselor, Alison Kincannon.  We are very fortunate to have the services she provides for our students, and we wanted to let her know how much we appreciate her!

Upcoming Events:

Monday, Feb. 14th - Local Livestock Show/Sale & Dinner

Thurs.-Sat., Feb. 17th-19th - Regional Basketball Tournament @ Fairview

Sat.-Wed., Feb. 19th-23rd - Woodward District Livestock Show

Thurs.-Sat., Feb. 24th-26th - Area Basketball Tournament
