Arnett Speech and Drama team recently performed a fun one-act play, Aunt Maggity's Dark and Stormy Night. They were fantastic! These students stay incredibly busy with school and extracurricular activities, but they still managed to take the stage and put on an outstanding performance. A huge thank-you goes out to everyone who came to support the students. Special recognition goes to Nicki Broyles for taking the time to run the sound, and to Jena and Bill Burcham for making a quick trip to Woodward to help pick up a door for the production. The team would also like to thank On Stage Woodward for allowing them to raid their storage sheds for needed items. Finally, thank you to Arnett Public School for continuing to support our students and their activities. We are proud of the hard work and dedication these students continue to show!

This last week the Arnett FFA Officer Team was also on the road. They attended the COLT Conference in Enid. They attended chapter officer training workshops focused on conflict resolution, the importance of having crucial conversations, encouraging others to communicate effectively, and how to lead their chapter with confidence.

Sixth grade students in Mrs. Ham's science class are currently diving into the fascinating world of the human body and its many systems. They kicked off their unit by exploring different tissue samples from the human body under the microscope. This hands-on activity gave students the opportunity to observe the unique structures of tissues up close and begin understanding how different types of cells work together to make the human body function. Students are excited to continue learning about the body's systems and how they all work together to keep us healthy and functioning!

Wednesday, the Arnett softball team traveled to Elk City to compete in the regional tournament. The Lady Wildcats opened tournament play against Granite, falling 7-11 in a hard-fought game. The girls had to quickly turn around and take on Beaver in an elimination game. They responded with a strong performance, defeating Beaver 20-8 to keep their season alive. On Thursday, the Lady Wildcats returned to Elk City for another matchup against Granite. Despite their efforts, Arnett fell 2-12, bringing their season to an end. Congratulations to the Lady Wildcats on a season filled with hard work, determination, and plenty of memories. We are proud of you!

We love that so many of our students and staff get the opportunity to support our athletic teams during the school day. We also love seeing what happens back at school while they are gone and how everyone works together when the teams return. On Thursday, students stepped up to help around campus by scooping leaves—and, to everyone's surprise, even some baby spiders!—wiping down outdoor furniture, sweeping floors, taking out trash, and cleaning tables. How awesome is it that our custodians are so supportive of our teams that they rode the pep bus both days to cheer them on and then returned to school to work alongside students? It is a great example of the teamwork, school spirit, and sense of community that make Arnett Public Schools special!
