Wildcats Kick Off Basketball Season

The 5th and 6th grade Wildcats kicked off their basketball season early as they traveled to Hammon last Monday to compete in the Hammon Tournament. Both the Lady Wildcats and Wildcats faced the Hammon Warriors in their first games of the tournament.

The Lady Wildcats came out strong, taking an early lead and never looking back. The girls played a great game and came away with a 22-13 victory over Hammon. The boys took the court following the girls and faced a tough Hammon team. The Wildcats battled hard but fell 36-22 to the Warriors.

Junior High and High School Rodeo Season Begins

The Junior High and High School Rodeo season has officially kicked off, and Arnett has three students competing through school rodeo this year. Kindrey Gaisford, a 6th grader, competes in barrels, poles, and breakaway roping. She ended up 8th at the last rodeo in Woodward. Alexandra Strick, a freshman, competes in breakaway roping, poles, and goats. She took home 8th place both days at Woodward. Bayne Strick, a junior, competes in saddle bronc riding and team roping. Bayne did really well in Woodward placing 2nd Saturday and 1st Sunday in saddle broncs. Team roping he also placed 8th and 10th over the two days. We are excited to follow these students throughout the rodeo season and wish Kindrey, Alexandra, and Bayne the best of luck as they represent our school in the arena!

4th Grade Science Students Put Circuits to Work

Our 4th grade science students have been putting their knowledge of electric circuits to the test with a hands-on building project. Each student followed step-by-step instructions to build their own battery-powered fan out of wood.

After constructing their fans, students had to complete the electric circuit correctly in order for the motor and fan blades to work. The project gave students the opportunity to apply what they have learned about circuits, electricity, and energy while also practicing problem-solving and following directions. It was exciting to see the students' hard work pay off as their homemade fans began to spin!

The Beta Club also provided plenty of entertainment on the courthouse square. Kids enjoyed a variety of games and activities, including Tic-Tac-Toe Toss, Plinko, Little Buckaroo Cow Races, the Human Slot Machine, and more. The money raised through these games helps the Beta Club fund projects throughout the school year as well as trips to state and national events.
