The countdown is officially on! It is hard to believe that summer is almost over and the 2026–2027 school year is just around the corner. While students have been enjoying the last weeks of summer, our coaches, teachers, and staff have been busy preparing for another great year at Arnett Public Schools.
Staff will officially return on Monday, August 10, for in-service, and then the big day arrives! The first day of school is Thursday, August 13. We are excited to see our hallways filled with Wildcats again and can't wait to begin another year of learning, growing, competing, and making memories together.
As you look through this week's graphics, take note of the important information and upcoming dates. There is a lot happening as we prepare to open our doors, so keep an eye on school announcements and make sure you don't miss anything.
The final days of summer are here, and before we know it, we'll be hearing those first morning bells! We hope everyone enjoys these last few days, gets plenty of rest, and comes back ready for another fantastic year.
Welcome back, Wildcats! Let's make 2026–2027 a great one!
Welcome, Brenda. We are excited to have you on the team!

Our junior high and high school baseball teams have been working hard in preparation for their upcoming season. Coaches even surprised the boys with a lunch following their final practice before the first game, cooking and serving burgers and watermelon for their teams. It is always great to see our coaches not only leading their athletes but also taking the time to serve and encourage them.

The High School Book Club also met last week to discuss Dreamland Burning, July's selection. Through open-minded conversation, students were able to compare Oklahoma society today with life almost a century ago. Their August selection will be Cinder by Marissa Meyer, so there is still time for any high school students who would like to join the fun!

L-R: Leslie Girton, Shala Knowles, Brooklyn Vincent, Whitley Stewart, Katie Girton.

Don't forget that Cunningham Peaches will be delivered on Saturday! If you ordered peaches or honey through the Beta Club fundraiser, be sure to mark your calendar and watch for delivery information.
