Although it has been another relatively quiet week at Arnett Public Schools, there has been no shortage of work taking place behind the scenes as preparations continue for the upcoming school year.

Our summer maintenance crew has been hard at work checking projects off their to-do list. One major accomplishment has been giving the entire fleet of school vehicles a thorough cleaning, inside and out, ensuring they are ready for another busy year of transporting students to activities and events. The softball field has also received some attention, with freshly painted poles helping spruce up the facility for the upcoming season. Inside the school, the "Marias" have been busy waxing floors, making the hallways and classrooms shine in preparation for students' return. We appreciate all of the hard work our maintenance and custodial staff put in each summer to ensure our campus is clean, safe, and ready for a new school year.

A special thank you also goes out to our coaches. While many people think of summer as a time to slow down, our coaching staff has spent countless hours working with student-athletes through Summer Pride. Many students have faithfully attended workouts, dedicating themselves to becoming stronger, faster, and better teammates. The excitement is building as we look forward to seeing how all of that hard work and commitment pays off during the upcoming seasons. Coaches, thank you for investing so much of your summer in our students. Your dedication, encouragement, and countless hours do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for the positive impact you have on the lives of our Wildcats.

In other community news, the Arnett swimming pool has been the place to be during these hot summer days. With temperatures climbing, activity at the pool has been just as hot. Hallie McCartor has been lifeguarding for Miss Kristi this summer and shared that the pool recently welcomed as many as 24 kids in one afternoon. It's wonderful to see so many children enjoying a safe, fun place to spend time with friends, stay active, and cool off from the Oklahoma heat. The pool is open Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
