While students may be enjoying summer break, learning and preparation for the upcoming school year are already underway at Arnett Public Schools.

Recently, Arnett administrators attended the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) Summer Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City. Superintendent Scot Friesen, High School Principal Bryan Shoaf, and Elementary Principal Shannon Shoaf joined school leaders from across the state for professional development and leadership training focused on strengthening schools and improving student outcomes.

One of the highlights of the conference was a keynote presentation by leadership expert and bestselling author John Maxwell. Maxwell shared insights from his latest book, High Road Leadership, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership, personal growth, and creating a positive impact within schools and communities.

Throughout the conference, administrators attended sessions covering instructional leadership, school culture, student achievement, school safety, and current issues facing education. They also had the opportunity to hear from candidates for Oklahoma State Superintendent and connect with fellow school leaders from across Oklahoma.

The knowledge and ideas gained from the conference will help Arnett's leadership team continue providing high-quality educational opportunities and preparing for another successful school year.

The Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) serves as Oklahoma's leading professional organization for school administrators, providing advocacy, training, and leadership development opportunities throughout the state.

Back in Arnett, summer learning is already in full swing. Thirty-seven elementary students gathered on Tuesday for summer school, where they continued building academic skills and preparing for the year ahead. Second and third grade students are getting a head start on the Sequoyah Reading Challenge, while fifth and sixth graders have been sharpening their math skills through Math Hoops activities.

Summer Pride has also begun for student athletes and will continue throughout the coming weeks. These workouts provide opportunities for students to stay active, improve their skills, and prepare for the upcoming athletic seasons.

Although the hallways may be quieter during the summer months, there is still plenty happening at Arnett Public Schools as students, staff, and administrators continue learning, growing, and preparing for another great year.
