With state testing now behind us, Arnett students and staff are shifting their focus to one of the most exciting times of the year—end-of-year programs, banquets, and field trips. The final stretch of the school year is officially underway, and the calendar is quickly filling up with activities.
Tuesday night showcased the incredible talents of Arnett students during the annual Arts Program. Band, choir, and speech students took the stage to perform, demonstrating the skills they’ve developed throughout the year. Guests entering the auditorium were welcomed by a display of student artwork, featured on tables and walls, highlighting the creativity and hard work of Arnett’s young artists. The evening was a great success and a wonderful celebration of the fine arts.
Senior, Breclyn Suthers performed her POI that took her to the State Speech Contest.
Whitley “Toy” Stewart performed her piece that won 3rd in her category at the State Speech Contest.
Brooklyn Vincent entertained the crowd with her Backward Alphabet book performance.

In the classroom, learning continues in engaging and hands-on ways. First grade students in Mrs. Gaisford’s class have been studying patterns in the sky. To better understand how the Earth moves, students learned about the concept of Earth's rotation and how it affects the position of the sun. They conducted an experiment by tracing their shadows at noon, then returning to the same spot at 3:00 p.m. to observe how their shadows had shifted. The activity gave students a fun and visual way to see science in action.
Thursday marked the final Student of the Month celebration for the school year, recognizing students for their achievements and positive contributions.
The week wrapped up with a fun outing for the pre-K class. On Friday, students traveled to PLAY on Main for a day of play and exploration. They later enjoyed lunch from Sonic at the park in Elk City—a perfect way to celebrate a great year.
Looking ahead, next week promises to be just as busy with a full schedule of events. Be sure to check the school calendar to stay up to date on all the upcoming activities as we head toward the end of another successful school year.
