The Arnett Wildcats moved through a fast-paced and eventful week filled with success, travel, and celebration across all grade levels.
The Arnett Lady Wildcats led the way with a district win over Beaver. With that victory, they earned a spot in the next round of play at Leedey. They will face Granite on Wednesday at 12:15 as they continue their postseason run.

Elementary students spent much of the week learning outside the classroom. The kindergarten class traveled to the zoo, where they enjoyed a smooth and pleasant day. Mrs. Miller shared that the weather was just right and the crowds were small, which allowed students to move easily from exhibit to exhibit and take in the animals at a relaxed pace.

Students in first through third grade visited Leonardo's Children's Museum in Enid. The museum gave students a chance to explore hands-on science and art exhibits while staying active and engaged. Inside, they explored interactive displays like the Critter Clubhouse and art areas. Outside, they climbed and played on the large wooden castle and pirate ship, which are part of the well-known playground. The trip combined learning and play in a way that kept students interested throughout the day.

A group of 11 students, led by Mrs. Wheeler and Mrs. Bryant, earned a special trip to OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark. These students completed the Sequoyah Reading Challenge, which requires reading all 15 Sequoyah books and passing each AR test. This marks the fourth year of the challenge, and it continues to grow each year. One of the most difficult parts is that students do not know what their reward will be ahead of time, which makes their effort even more meaningful. Their trip was a chance to celebrate months of hard work and commitment to reading.

The Arnett Speech and Debate team brought home three medals from the state tournament. Whitley "Toy" Stewart placed 3rd in prose, Eli Coykendall and John Campbell placed 4th in PF debate, and Jasmine Smith placed 6th in prose. Breclyn Suthers and Brooklyn Vincent did a fantastic job in their categories as well.

The week came to a close on Saturday evening with the prom, hosted by the junior class. The event, titled “The Black Tie Soiree,” transformed the space with soft pastel flowers and hanging chandeliers. The decorations created a formal setting that stood out as students arrived dressed for the occasion. The sophomore class served dinner before taking time to change into their own formal wear and join the event. By the end of the night, students and their guests had filled the room with conversation, laughter, and lasting memories.
