While Spring Break is often a time to relax and recharge, that was not the case for many agriculture students across the state who participated in the Oklahoma Youth Expo (OYE). Arnett was well represented, with a strong group of students ranging from 4th grade through 12th grade taking part in the event.

The long hours and dedication these students put in throughout the year once again paid off in the show ring. However, the value of their experience goes far beyond ribbons and placings. Through showing livestock, students learn responsibility, a strong work ethic, how to properly care for animals, and the importance of helping fellow exhibitors. They also gain valuable life lessons in both winning and losing with grace.

A couple of Arnett exhibitors earned special recognition for their accomplishments. Senior Abbie Boyd placed 4th in Class 4 Duroc barrows and went on to finish 11th overall with her Duroc barrow. Junior Madison Haney also had an outstanding showing, placing 3rd in her showmanship division and making the sale with one of her goats.
