Wildcat News for week of January 26, 2026

There was no school on Monday, January 19, as we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day; however, the Wildcats were still hard at work on the basketball court. The 5th–6th grade teams and Junior High squads took on the visiting Buffalo Bison.  The 5th–6th grade girls opened the night with a convincing 30–2 victory, followed by a strong 27–8 win from the boys. In Junior High action, the girls continued the momentum with an impressive 40–9 win. The Junior High boys battled hard and led for most of the game but ultimately fell in overtime, 36–32.  Basketball season is flying by, and playoff time will be here before we know it!

Congratulations to the Jr. High basketball teams in the Sharon-Mutual Tournament.  The boys placed 3rd and the girls were Runner-Up.  Way to go Wildcats!

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, two members of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra traveled to Arnett to perform for all students. The musicians were part of the Philharmonic’s mobile music program, Rhythm on the Road, which sends a violin and bass duet to all 77 Oklahoma counties. During the engaging 50-minute assembly, students explored rhythm, storytelling, and sound through live music. The performance was not only entertaining, but also a valuable educational experience for everyone in attendance.
