Wildcat News for week of January 19, 2026
On Tuesday, January 13, the sixth-grade Cocoa Cats enjoyed a pizza party and business luncheon with their investors, Lisa Friesen and Rusty Royal from Farmers & Merchants Bank. During the meeting, students reflected on the outcome of their coffee and cocoa business, comparing gross profit to net profit and discussing what they learned throughout the process. They also brainstormed ways to use their earnings, with ideas including purchasing supplies for teachers’ classrooms, buying a bench for outside the school, and setting aside startup funds for next year’s class. Overall, the experience provided valuable, real-world learning opportunities. Farmers & Merchants Bank graciously allowed the students to keep their 15% investment to help fund these projects.
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and the Beta Club is gearing up for its annual fundraiser. The world-famous Beta Club cookies will be available once again for purchase. This year, the club is trying something new. Instead of balloon sales, Beta Club members are offering a “Beta Bear.” This adorable stuffed animal comes with a drink and a special message for your favorite Valentine. For those who prefer, the drink may also be purchased by itself. To place an order, contact any Beta Club member or Mrs. Burcham. All orders are due by Thursday, February 5, 2026.
