Basketball season has officially begun, and our teams started strong with a busy week full of exciting games!
On Monday, the 5th-6th grade and junior high teams played at home against Shattuck. The 5th-6th grade girls played hard but came up short, while the boys’ team brought home a win. The junior high girls also came out on top, but the junior high boys lost a close game.
The action continued on Tuesday night when the high school girls’ team traveled to Erick. They played an amazing game and brought home a big victory with a score of 69-18!
On Thursday, the 5th-6th grade and junior high teams hit the road again—this time to Fargo to face Fargo/Gage/Ft. Supply. It was a great day for our teams! The 5th-6th girls and boys both won, the junior high girls won again, and the junior high boys gave it their best effort but fell short.
The week wrapped up with Hoops for Heroes on Friday night. The evening began with the 3rd and 4th grade teams, and both the girls and boys started things off with wins! The high school girls continued the streak, defeating Fargo/Gage/Ft. Supply 60-24, and the high school boys finished the night strong with a 47-40 victory.
It was an exciting week of basketball for all our teams. Congratulations to every player and coach for their hard work and teamwork.
Our junior high and high school rodeo teams have also been off to a great start this season! The last two weekends have brought lots of success and strong performances from our riders.
Breclyn Suthers has been doing an amazing job in goat tying. She placed 2nd in Chickasha the weekend before last with a time of 7.87 seconds. This past weekend in Durant, she placed 8th with an 8.5 and 11th with an 8.7.
Bayne Strick has had two great weekends as well. In Chickasha, he won 1st place in saddle bronc riding on Sunday. Then in Durant, he and his team roping partner took 4th place in team roping.

Bayne’s little sister, Alex Strick, also shined in Chickasha. She won breakaway roping both days, took 4th place in goat tying both days, and earned 5th place in ribbon roping on Sunday.
Kindrey Gaisford is also making great progress in her first year of junior high rodeo and continues to work hard and improve with every event.
Mrs. Dearing’s 4th graders have been working hard on their Native American books! Each student chose a tribe from Pre-Columbian times and created a beautifully written and illustrated children’s book to share what they learned. On November 6, 2025, they had the wonderful opportunity to read their stories to the Kindergarten and Pre-K classes. It was such a fun and meaningful project—students not only enjoyed the creative process but also gained a deeper understanding of Native American cultures.
