Arnett KDG and Pre-K

This week, Jacob Wayland, Kaleb McDonald, Chris Johnston, and Jeffrey Gross from the Arnett Volunteer Fire Department visited Arnett Elementary to teach students about fire prevention and safety. Students in grades Pre-K through 6th learned what to do in case of a fire and got an up-close look at the equipment firefighters use to stay safe and save lives. The firemen also brought several of their emergency vehicles, which students were thrilled to see. The highlight of the visit, however, came when the children enthusiastically practiced yelling, “I’m in here!” a phrase they’ll remember in case of an emergency.

Miss Oklahoma 2025, Tessa Dorrell, also visited Arnett this week, delivering two inspiring presentations, one for grades 5–12 and another for the younger students. Her message centered around empathy, making good choices, goal setting, and the importance of education. Students found Tessa to be engaging, relatable, and full of positive energy. Her ability to connect with the audience left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

The Arnett 5th and 6th grade boys’ basketball team had an impressive showing as runner-ups in the Arnett Booster Club Tournament. The boys claimed victories over Shattuck and Mooreland before falling just short in a hard-fought game against Reydon.

Last week Breclyn Suthers placed 5th, at a rodeo in Stigler, in goats with a 7.57. The Arnett schools is excited about so many students participating in rodeo this year.

To wrap up an already wonderful week, the Arnett Beta Club extended a heartfelt thank-you to Bill Mitchell and Farmers and Merchants Bank for their generous, unsolicited donation. Their support serves as a reminder that it truly takes a village and Arnett’s is one of the best.
