5k and 1 Mile Winners

Last Tuesday, students from PreK all the way through 12th grade participated in the annual BETA Club’s Fall with Friends celebration. The event, organized by Mrs. Burcham, focused on building schoolwide friendships and community spirit.

Students were grouped into “friend” teams that mixed ages and grades, giving everyone a chance to make new connections. The morning began with donuts in classrooms, where buddies got to chat and get to know one another before the big adventure began. Fall With Friends 1

After breakfast, everyone gathered in the auditorium where Mrs. Royal gave instructions for an exciting schoolwide scavenger hunt that she organized. Each group had 20 different stops scattered throughout the building—ranging from the basement to the janitor’s room, the library, the lost and found, the high school math room, and even the bike racks! Laughter and teamwork filled the halls as students raced from clue to clue, finally ending back in the auditorium to await the rest of their teams.

It was all hands on deck to make the scavenger hunt happen. The cafeteria ladies, janitors, aides, teachers, and administrators all participated and helped make each station fun. Students had to perform different tasks, to get their next clue.

The day wrapped up with the highly anticipated Wildcat Fun Run, organized by Mrs. Dearing. Kindergarten through second-grade students dashed around the circle in front of the school, while third grade and older had the choice to tackle either a one-mile run or a 5K course. Mrs. Dearing was thrilled to see such a strong turnout, noting how many students eagerly laced up to run this year.

It was a morning full of energy, smiles, and school spirit, another successful “Fall with Friends” event reminding everyone what it means to be part of the Wildcat family.

Last week, Mrs. Broyles, the Arnett band director, took her band students to Enid for a special trip to watch the Tri-State Marching Contest. The goal of the trip was to give students the chance to hear other bands perform, experience the excitement of live marching shows, and spend quality time together as a band family.

Throughout the day, students watched several impressive performances from high school bands across the region. They observed different marching styles, listened to a variety of musical arrangements, and saw firsthand the hard work and creativity that go into competitive marching shows.
