The Arnett Beta Club proudly hosted a successful blood drive last week. Dedicated Beta Club members cheerfully helped donors check in and made sure they had plenty of tasty snacks while waiting. The event had an impressive turnout and was a meaningful way to help others in need.

It was another exciting and action-packed weekend for our hardworking rodeo kids in Woodward, OK! Bayne Strick delivered a powerful bronc ride and came out on top with 1st place. Bayne is a determined competitor and also shows his talent in team roping as the quick-footed heeler. His sister, Alex Strick, had a lightning-fast catch in breakaway and secured 1st place on Saturday. Alex is a fierce competitor with amazing skills, as she also competes in poles, goat tying, team roping, and ribbon roping. Breclyn Suthers showed strong determination with a solid goat tie run with a time of 7.64 putting her in 5th place. She also had an impressive catch on her calf during the breakaway roping. Kindrey rode with confidence and came away with a speedy pole run that earned her 3rd place in a very tough and competitive age group.

Softball and baseball teams had another busy week as they prepared for districts. The Lady Wildcats softball team played with energy and focus at home Monday, beating Hammon 14-2. On Tuesday, they battled Canute but lost 2-11. Thursday, they showed resilience in Laverne, winning 14-7. Districts will be hosted at home this Thursday against Balko/Forgan and Dover. The Lady Wildcats have a bye for the first game and will play the winner at 1:00.

The Wildcat baseball boys fought through a challenging week. Monday they traveled to Vici and fell 1-11. On Thursday, they played tough against Fargo/Gage/Ft. Supply but lost a close game 6-9. Friday, they faced Vici again at home and lost 2-11 despite strong effort. Their district tournament kicks off Thursday, and the boys are determined to give it their all.

Our Gifted and Talented program has also been hard at work after school with Mrs. Royal. Students have been busy creating unique projects, exploring new ideas, and working together on many exciting activities that challenge their creativity and critical thinking skills.

This week your Arnett Robocats have spent a lot of time brainstorming, building prototypes and updating our logo to fit the Factoids game theme.

We have also been collecting supplies to build the playing field and are gearing up for a couple of fundraisers during rodeo weekend. We have a new activity “Chicken Poop Bingo” where participants can walk away with a handful of cash if they pick the winning square. Come to the West side of the town square before 1:00 on Saturday and try your luck! We will also be continuing the guaranteed fun and laughs that “The Amazing Race” provides with an additional category this year. Adults 21+ are welcome to participate in the motorized division and use golf carts or riding lawn mowers to get from task to task. 4th-8th grade races start at 9:30 on the Courthouse lawn, 9th grade and up will follow. Pre-registration is encouraged, but we will have a few extra spots for day-of participants. Contact rcoleman@arnett.k12.ok.us to register.

We would also like to give a big “Thank You” to our newest sponsors. Shattuck Lumber and Star Lumber both donated wood and pvc for our playing field and The Longhorn Bar and Grill gave a monetary donation.

Looking ahead, the Arnett Ranch Rodeo will bring a fun-filled weekend packed with exciting student-led events. A 5K run will begin bright and early at 7:00 a.m. at the courthouse. The baseball boys will serve a delicious pancake breakfast at the Christian Church from 7:30–9:00 a.m. by donation only. At 9:30, the Robotics Amazing Race will take off with adventurous challenges. The Beta Club will host entertaining games on the courthouse lawn, and Robotics will bring laughs with their silly Chicken Poop Bingo at 1:00. There will also be frisbee disc golf beginning at 4:00PM. Parade registration begins at 4:30, followed by a colorful community parade at 5:00. Food trucks and local vendors will also be set up around the courthouse all day, serving tasty treats and offering fun items for the whole family. Don’t miss this lively weekend of Wildcat spirit—come out and support our students!
