Mrs. Ham’s science classes have been busy learning and exploring new topics this week. The 4th graders studied different types of energy. To help them understand electrical energy, they completed a lab where they built a circuit to light a light bulb. The students were excited to see their bulbs glow after connecting the wires correctly.

In 5th grade science, the class focused on the properties of matter. To show what they learned, the students built 3D dioramas that explained the different states of matter. Their projects also showed how particles move in solids, liquids, and gases. The dioramas were creative and helped make science come to life.

The 6th grade science students also got hands-on in the lab. Mrs. Ham guided them in an activity about classifying organisms. Instead of working with real living things, they practiced by sorting different objects into groups based on their similar characteristics. This helped them understand how scientists classify living organisms in the real world.

Meanwhile, in social studies, Mrs. Wheeler’s 5th graders have been learning about technology from the past. The students made Canva presentations that explained tools and technology used during early exploration. They shared what they learned with the class and showed how technology helped explorers travel and discover new lands.

On Friday, the Lady Wildcats faced Hinton and came up short with a 2-5 loss.
The Wildcats baseball team also had a busy week. On Tuesday, they played Fargo-Gage-Ft. Supply and lost a close game 4-5. Thursday brought another challenge as they fell to the Hammon Warriors 1-9. But on Friday, the Wildcats turned things around with a strong 12-2 win against Cimarron.
This past weekend, the Ellis County Fair was held, and many Arnett students took part. Several placed in the soil conservation poster competition, while others received awards in different project categories. Their hard work and creativity were proudly on display for the community.
From circuits and dioramas to county fair ribbons and exciting games on the field, Arnett students have shown hard work and teamwork both in the classroom and in the community.
