Summer Winds Down as Arnett Prepares for a New School Year
With the first day of school quickly approaching, Arnett Public Schools is gearing up for the start of another exciting academic year. Classes will officially resume on Thursday, August 14th, and online enrollment will begin August 1st, giving families time to get everything in order before students return to the classroom.
This past Thursday marked the end of Summer Pride, and what a successful summer it was. Attendance remained steady and strong throughout the program, showing the commitment of Arnett’s student-athletes to their growth and teamwork. To celebrate the end of a season full of hard work, coaches flipped the script—serving breakfast to their athletes after their final workout. It was a great reminder that strong leaders don’t just lead by instruction, but also by serving those around them.
Now, with Summer Pride wrapped up, it’s time for students to enjoy a well-earned break and recharge during the last few weeks of summer. High school students interested in participating in fall baseball or fastpitch softball are encouraged to reach out to their coaches for information as planning gets underway.
In other exciting news, a daycare center is coming to Arnett. The school district purchased a home directly across the street from the elementary school, and it has been under construction since early June. The transformation so far has been impressive, and if all goes according to plan, the daycare is expected to be up and running by September. This new addition will be a valuable resource for families in the community.
With school right around the corner and new projects taking shape, there’s a lot to look forward to in Arnett. The quiet days of summer are coming to an end—but the energy and enthusiasm of a new year are just beginning.
Cleaning up the backyard has involved tearing out old fencing and bushes. There is still more work to be done to prepare for the kids.
The large garage area will be converted to an indoor playroom so that the children can still burn off energy during times of inclement weather.
