Arnett Prepares for the New School Year Amid Summer Quiet
The halls of Arnett Public Schools have been quiet this summer, but behind the scenes, there’s been no shortage of activity. Support staff and summer maintenance crews have been hard at work, making steady progress to ensure everything is in top shape for the upcoming school year.
While many staff members are enjoying some well-deserved vacation time and taking a chance to recharge before the fall, the school saw a burst of energy recently. About a week and a half ago, coaches hosted a successful basketball camp for students in third through sixth grade. Held in the Arnett gym, the three-day camp drew strong attendance and gave young athletes a head start on sharpening their skills. Surely, these kids are fired up and counting down the days until basketball season officially begins.
Though the days at APS are calm for now, the excitement of a new school year is right around the corner—with students returning in just over a month. For the week ahead, things are expected to remain quiet. The only item on the agenda is a school board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 9th at 7:00 p.m.
These quieter moments are appreciated, but the countdown has begun. Soon enough, Arnett’s halls will be filled once again with students, energy, and Wildcat pride.
