Arnett Beta Club Shines at National Convention in Orlando
It was a fun and fulfilling week for Arnett High School students and sponsors as they took part in the National Beta Convention in Orlando, Florida. A total of 15 students and 10 adult sponsors made the trip for what turned out to be a very busy week filled with competitions, swimming, amusement park adventures, and of course—plenty of fun food!
Arnett students competed in 19 events and proudly brought home three plaques. They weren’t alone—this year’s Senior Beta National Convention welcomed over 1,300 clubs from 18 states, making it an incredible opportunity for students to showcase their talents on a national stage.
Among the highlights: Landree Parsons celebrated her birthday at Disney World and also accepted her group’s 7th place plaque in Apparel Design. In Division I Visual Arts, Nicolas Sant’Anna placed 5th in Color Photography, and Riah Latta earned 4th place in Fiber Arts.
A special moment came when Arnett students Landry, Harley, Brooklyn, Cadie, Allie, Eli, Breclyn, and Landree helped perform in Wilson High School’s Presidential Campaign Skit, which went on to earn 2nd place. It was a fun and rewarding way to support another Oklahoma Beta Club, and our students enjoyed every minute of it.
After a successful week full of accomplishments, all students and sponsors made it home safely and are now enjoying some well-earned rest. A heartfelt thank you goes to all the wonderful sponsors who gave their time and energy to keep our students safe and make the trip so memorable.
A special thanks also goes out to Mrs. Burcham and Mrs. Royal for their year-round dedication to the Arnett Beta Club. Their hard work and encouragement help ensure that our students take full advantage of every opportunity Beta Club has to offer.
As students return home, we enter the OSSAA Dead Period—a designated time for coaches and athletes to rest and recharge before the start of another exciting school year. During this time, no communication between student-athletes and coaches is permitted. School facilities and equipment won’t be available for use. Enjoy the break, Wildcats!
