Summer Kicks Off with Learning, Teamwork, and Rainy Day Changes
The final week of May marked the beginning of summer school in Arnett, bringing fresh learning opportunities and a few weather-related schedule changes.
Mrs. Broyles’ summer school class dove into a fun science lesson on clouds and rain. Students explored how rain forms and even conducted an engaging experiment using water, shaving cream, and food coloring to simulate rainfall — a perfect way to blend education and hands-on fun.
Meanwhile, Classic Bowl Basketball proved to be an exciting experience as long-time rivals came together as teammates. It was a special opportunity for girls who’ve competed against each other over the years to share the court and work as one team. We are proud of the hard work and dedication that these girls have put into being successful in their sports and studies.
While recent rain has been welcomed and much needed, it did bring a few challenges. Softball games were postponed due to weather and will now be played on Wednesday, June 4th, at the same time and location originally scheduled.
Looking ahead, the upcoming week is expected to be fairly quiet as students settle into their second week of Summer School and Summer Pride. In addition, various sports camps will be held throughout the summer. Junior high and high school boys are gearing up to attend Elk City Team Camp from June 3rd–5th, where they’ll hone their skills and build team chemistry.
Summer is off to an enriching start in Arnett, with more learning and athletic opportunities on the horizon.
