Wildcat Corner April 28th- May 4th

Only a couple of weeks left until graduation as we continue our "Senior Sunday." This week features Kylie Garcia. Congratulations, Kylie!

This week's Farmer's and Merchant's Bank "Banking on a Wildcat" goes to Mr. Braydon Miller. Braydon's teachers had this to say about him: "Braydon's Senior year is the year he has really shown up and shown out. From basketball to ag mechanics, Braydon has been very instrumental in contributing to team wins and group project awards. Braydon is well-liked and looked up to because of the way he interacts with adults and kids alike. He's never too busy or too cool to speak to the elementary students and is highly sought-after during Fall with Friends. Braydon is intelligent, talented, and hardworking, and we look forward to seeing how he excels in the future." Congratulations, Braydon!

Senior Baxter Brown had the unique opportunity to spend a day with the NWEC linemen. Under the guidance of journeyman lineman Shayne, Baxter got a firsthand look at what it takes to build and maintain electrical infrastructure. The crew—Josh, Owen, Parker, and Sam—welcomed Baxter as they tackled the job of framing and setting poles for a new service north of Mooreland. It was a day filled with valuable learning experiences, giving Baxter an up-close look at the vital role linemen play in keeping communities connected.

On April 29, 2025, 3rd and 4th grade students from Arnett, Shattuck, and Fargo schools gathered at Arnett Park for a special Outdoor Classroom Day, blending hands-on learning with outdoor fun. Sponsored by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board in partnership with the Ellis County Conservation District, the event offered students a unique opportunity to explore a variety of environmental topics in an interactive setting. Throughout the day, students rotated among seven educational stations set up across the park, where they learned about water resources, animal habitats, tree conservation, and ways to protect and preserve water. Teachers and organizers praised the event for providing students with valuable lessons outside the traditional classroom environment.
