Senior Alyssa Smith covering home

This week's Farmer's and Merchant's Bank "Banking on a Wildcat" goes to Eli Coykendall.  Eli's teachers had this to say about him: "Eli Coykendall is a well-rounded student giving of himself to many different areas in our school. He participates in athletics, FFA, BETA, and Band. He helps run the sound system for school programs and helps with media when needed. He has encouraged younger students to use their vocal talents as he  has accompanied them on the National Anthem at basketball games. Eli always offers to help, and a lot of times is asked (begged) to help as it is not uncommon for him to have more knowledge than some of his teachers when it comes to technology." Congratulations, Eli!

After all the chaos of last week’s activities, Arnett Public Schools got to slow down a little this week. 8th & 9th graders took the preACT and Seniors took a CPR class. Our first of several students headed down to OYE for the guilt show.

8th Grader Brooklyn Vincent shows her dark cross guilt “Belle” at OYE.

The wide world of sports had the Wildcat ball teams traveling all around. Monday the HS Softball team hosted Vici and came away with the 11-1 win, while the JH traveled to Vici and won 8-6. The Baseball teams traveled to Fargo where the HS took a 0-6 loss but the JH walked away with the win. Tuesday the Lady Cats HS team traveled all the way to Turpin and got two wins in the double header 18-3 & 13-2. The JH played a close one at Shattuck but came up short with an 8-10 loss. Both girls teams played at Sayre on Thursday. The JH lost 2-10 but the HS won 12-1. The HS baseball boys battled it out at Hinton and ended with an 11-12 loss. On Friday the Wildcat baseball team finished out the week at Sayre with another close loss (1-3).

Top of the Order: Seniors #1 Ryan Elder and #12 Canon Hardin warm up with Freshmen #3 Dodger Sloan and #23 Nicolas Sant’Anna before the game at Sayre.

Senior Brianna Marenco is greeted by her cheering teammates as she approaches home plate after knocking one over the fence at Turpin.

Junior Harley Shoaf makes a quick toss after getting in the dirt at Turpin.

Junior Cadie McCracken works hard in the outfield for the out against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

8th grade pitcher Riah Latta sends one over the plate in a windy game at Vici. Teammates Charity Albert and Lauryn Bayless shared in the blustery frustration that was totally worth it when they came away with the “W”.
