This last week was kind of a crazy one.
Last Saturday a few of our kids traveled to Shattuck to participate in the Shattuck speech tournament. Congratulations to Katie Girton and Casi Noreuil! They placed 1st in dramatic duet.

Monday the Arnett Wildcat baseball team kicked off their season against Waynoka. They played them on their home field, and they ended with a win for their opener, 13-1.

Also Monday evening, the community of Arnett came together for a meal to gather donations and celebrate their Lady Wildcat basketball team and their accomplishment of making it to the state tournament.

Tuesday was a smoke filled day as fires were all around. The boys baseball game was cancelled, and the Lady Wildcats took off without a sendoff to head to state so they could get out of all the smoke.

Wednesday the Lady Wildcats stepped foot onto the court in the Big House in OKC to face off with Lookeba-Sickles for the first round of state basketball. It was a battle from the start. In the second quarter, Allie Tune ended up with a hurt knee and had to sit the rest of the game. This didn't stop our girls from battling though. They fought hard until the end. Harley took a hard hit to her head from the court but stuck it out to finish. The girls clawed to the end but ended up short, losing 49-43. We are very proud of you girls and your season!

Friday afternoon, the boys baseball team made up for their cancelled game against Forgan. The boys played Forgan at home. They played well and beat the Forgan Bulldogs 15-2.

This week's Farmer's and Merchant's Bank "Banking on a Wildcat" goes to Monty Wilson. Monty's teacher's had this to say about him: "Monty is so much fun to have in the classroom. He keeps everyone accountable and is a good team member. Having him a part of the media team this year was just what the school needed. He is an asset to our school and community." Congrats Monty!

This week is Read Across America week, and our school is celebrating it by dressing up each day. At the end of the week, our students are finishing off with Breakfast with Buddies. Each elementary student is paired with a 5th grader or older student. They have breakfast together and read or play games. This is a great program our Beta Club has started that allows our students to get to know each other better.
