Wildcat News for 2-1-24
Basketball season is going in full force. The 270 Conference playoffs will be held February 1-3 and the District Tournament will be February 8-10, 2024. Times will be announced closer to those dates. Mrs. Knowles speech students have been attending tournaments and all the students who show livestock are gearing up for the busy show season. The Ellis County Stock Show will be held Monday, February 4, at Shattuck. That will also be a Professional Day at school - teachers will report as usual but students will not be there that day. Also be sure to order Beta cookies or balloons for your favorite Valentine! Orders are due by Friday, February 8, and they will be delivered on February 14. You may contact Mrs. Burcham or any Beta member to place your order.
The band students are selling Krispy Kreme donuts and fresh brewed Driven Coffee. Orders are due on February 7; donuts will be delivered on February 12 and coffee products should be in around February 16. Please contact a band member if you would like to order!
At the District Hoop Shoot in Kingfisher, Crew Watson finished 3rd in his age division by making 15-25 shots. Lauryn Bayless won her age division by making 20-25 shots. Lauryn now advances to the State Hoop Shoot in Dale, OK, on February 3, 2024. Good luck Lauryn!!
The Farmers and Merchants Bank “Banking on a Wildcat” for the week on January 22 goes to Riah Latta. Teachers had this to say about Riah: “Riah always does what is asked of her. She stays on top of her school work and excels in her academics. She works hard on the court and in the classroom, and it pays off. One of her greatest attributes is that she is polite and kind to others.” Congratulations Riah!

Allie Tune, Harley Shoaf, and Landry Bayless were named to the All Tournament Team at the Tri-County Tournament. Way to go girls!!
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, these students traveled to Guymon with their music teacher, Mrs. Broyles, to the annual Circle the State With Song. They have spent time after school practicing their songs. They spent the day practicing in Guymon and then performed songs with over 150 other students representing 15 schools in Northwest Oklahoma. These Arnett Seniors were recognized at the last home basketball game of the season on January 25, 2024.
