Wildcat News for 1-18-24

School is back in full swing from the holidays with lots of activities.  The high school basketball teams played in the Oil Center Classic Basketball Tournament.  The high school girls came away Champions after defeating Leedey 55-51 in the finals.  The boys finished fourth after winning their first game.

The local spelling bee was held Wednesday, January 10, 2024, and the winners advanced to the County Spelling Bee held January 17, 2024, at Arnett.

The Arnett Beta Club is hosting two dances in the little gym on Saturday, January 27, 2024.  The Snowball Dance for grades PK-6th grade will be from 6-7 p.m. and admission is $5.  Jr. and Sr. Beta members will be there to dance and play a few games with students.  The Winter Ball for grades 712 will be from 8-11 p.m. and admission is $10.  Out of town guests are welcome for each dance, and snacks and drinks will be provided.  Music is featured by DJ Royal, and attire is semi-formal or smart casual.  This should be a great time for everyone!

Please remember that the street in front of the elementary school acts as a one-way street during school hours.  If you are dropping off or picking up your students, please enter from the east and exit to the west.  Thanks for helping us keep students safe!

Katie Girton recently performed with the All-Area High School Honor Band.  Students from the northwest area met in Fairview on January 4th and practiced for two days culminating in a concert on January 5th.  Katie is a 9th grade member of the Arnett Band.  Way to go Katie!
