Wildcat News for January 4, 2024

The final two days of school before the Christmas break were filled with fun and busy activities for all students.  The Jr. High and High School students had to take semester tests.  The elementary students enjoyed watching “The Polar Express” on Monday.  Teachers provided hot chocolate and SWAT team members brought cookies for everyone to enjoy.  4th-6th grade students who met their 9 weeks AR goal were also rewarded with their AR Party.  Finally, on Tuesday the elementary students traveled to Canadian for the annual Christmas trip to see the movie.  They were treated to pop and popcorn.  Once they returned to school they had their class Christmas gathering and were released at 1:30 for the holiday.  Classes resume Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

4th grade has been learning about minerals and the rock cycle in Mrs. Ham’s science class. After learning about the difference between minerals and rocks, they grew their own mineral crystals.  Leddy Johnson proudly displays her crystal.

The 6th graders used some of their earnings from “The Wake Up Express” to purchase gifts for the angel tree.  L-R:  Derick Girton, Sabe Williams, Jozie Latta, Alex Strick, Leilani Daniels, Noah Holman, and Adrian Gutierrez.

Congratulations to Arnett Senior, Canon Hardin, for signing a letter of intent to Southwestern Christian University.  Canon has been a committed and valued player to Arnett Baseball since 7th grade.  L-R:  Ty Hardin, Canon Hardin, Tyna Hardin and Callie Hardin.

The Farmer’s and Merchants Bank “Banking on a Wildcat” for the week of December 18, 2023, went to Mrs. Shala Knowles.  She was voted on by the students and they had this to say about her:  “She hold us accountable in everything we do and we respect her for it.  She pushes us to be the best we can be.  She genuinely is a loving, funny, and caring teacher and treats her students equally.”  Congratulations Mrs. Knowles!
