Summer break is almost in our grasp! These last few days of school are filled to the brim with activities, fun, and awards.

The elementary awards assembly will begin at 8:30 AM on Thursday, May 11. JH/HS awards will follow at 11:00 AM. School will dismiss that day at 1:00 PM. Sr. Commencement ceremonies will take place Friday, May 12, at 7:00 PM in the auditorium.

Though this is the final week of the school year, there is still much to recap from the final days and weeks at Arnett Public Schools.

Lyric Theatre visited the school on Friday, April 28, performing Oklahoma! Interactive for PK-12th grades. On Monday, May 1, the 4th-6th graders traveled to Oklahoma City, where they toured the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

On Tuesday, May 2, the Lady Wildcats played in the State Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament at the Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. They defeated Lookeba-Sickles 8-7 in the quarterfinals. They gave it their all, but fell to Whitesboro 5-7 in the semifinals.

On Thursday, May 4, the 1st & 2nd Graders who met their AR goal throughout the year took a field trip to the Woodward Bowling alley.

Twelve Arnett FFA members attended the State FFA Convention in Tulsa this past week. Freshman MaKenzi Hamil was selected to perform in the State FFA Choir, while Seniors Alyson Friesen, Emma Knowles, Anna Sant’Anna, Ashton Suthers, and Sara Wayland were recognized for receiving their State FFA Degree.

May 1-5 was Teacher Appreciation week, and the Arnett S.W.A.T. team did an excellent job helping students and parents recognize and thank teachers throughout the week. The S.W.A.T. team also gifted each staff member a succulent, and which was very appreciated.
