Here we are at the last month of another school year. Time does certainly fly. The last month of school is always a busy time of the year for our students, parents, and teachers. It is hoped that everyone will stay safe during this busy time and not take chances.
Baccalaureate is Sunday, May 10th and then Senior Graduation is Friday, May 15th. School will continue one more week and then dismiss for the summer. Summer School will begin in June and will meet Monday through Thursday during the month of June.
Thanks to everyone for a great year at Arnett Public Schools. It takes the whole community working together to make school a success for our young people and your support is greatly appreciated. On behalf of the board of education and staff we wish you a great summer!
Coach Shoaf and his team of superior softball players will be advancing to the state tournament in Shawnee. These girls and their coach have shown the excellence of character and play of true Arnett Wildcats. We are so proud of them. Come out and support them at the state tournament on Tuesday, May 5th in Shawnee.
Arnett girls once again bring honors to our school by being named the State Academic Team for Class A. This is an honor determined by student grade point averages. The girls have worked hard all year in the classroom as well as in athletics. This is just one more honor to be proud of for Arnett. Way to go girls! We look forward to many more accomplishments in your lives!
The swimming pool has been getting a complete make-over as we get it ready for summer activities. Both the pool and the building have been completely redone. The pool is expected to be open to the students before school is out and then ready for summer swimming. A big thank you to the board of education for allowing this make-over of this facility for our community.
In the event of bad weather and schools are closed, all students and staff will recieve a recorded message to the phone number on record at your child's school. Please make sure your contact information is up to date. Families who need to update their information should contact their child's school. There will also be a message sent out on the phone/computer app SchoolConnect. You may check local radio and TV stations for information.
Many factors are taken into consideration when deciding to close school, but the safety of our students and staff will always be our number one concern.
